The College Cooking Recipe and Event Organizer

Summary

Community Cooking is a website for college students that builds a more connected and intimate community around recipes and cooking through shared experiences

Community Cooking is a personalized transactional website. Access to the website is through existing university portals, such as Blackboard. The website creates a platform from which students can schedule events and share recipes within the college community.

Problem Statement

College undergraduates moving off the meal plan are faced with an interesting scenario: learning how to cook or manage food on their own while trying to balance schoolwork, social activities, budget, and time.

Schedules are packed, and group decision making amongst friends, if it even occurs, gets time-consuming and confusing.

What if students were able to:

  • Coordinate food-related events with friends using an online collaborative system
  • Have the knowledge of the campus community at their fingertips
  • Have richer social experiences while cooking

Community Cooking focuses on building shared experiences around recipes and cooking within a college community.
